At Prokey, we continually strive to push the boundaries of what's possible with our hardware wallets, enhancing security, functionality, and overall user experience. We're delighted to announce the release of our newest firmware update, version 1.10.5, which brings a host of improvements to your Prokey wallet.

Boosted Transparency with Firmware Signature

One of the standout features of this update is the addition of a Firmware signature. This new feature significantly enhances the transparency and security of your Prokey wallet. Not only does Prokey verify the device through mutual authentication, but now, anyone can independently check and verify that the firmware is originally signed by Prokey Technologies.

The firmware signature uses an elliptic curve digital signature algorithm, which is renowned for its high level of security. This ensures the integrity of the firmware and verifies that it hasn't been tampered with, providing you with the utmost confidence in the authenticity and safety of your wallet's firmware by confirming firmware footprint on your device whenever you install a new firmware.

Further emphasizing our commitment to transparency, we've made it possible for anyone to build the firmware from the source code and compare it directly with the firmware that is being installed from Prokey. We believe in the importance of openness and verifiability, and we're excited to empower our users with the ability to confirm the legitimacy of their firmware independently.

In the coming days, we'll be sharing a new blog post on the Prokey blog, which will provide step-by-step instructions on building the firmware from the source code.

Stay tuned!
